Hotel is positioned between the airport and city center and close to the tram station (Gyle Center), so it's ideal to leave the luggage there (if you arrive before check in) and carry on with your trip to the city/pick up the luggage on your way to the airport. However if you plan a tram ride to the airport for an early flight, you should check the tram working hours. Currently they start running around 5:30 am. We had to leave for the airport before 5am and the kind receptionist ordered a taxi for us. Room was small and included 3 beds (one queen size - very comfortable and a bunk bed above), few shelves, hangers, a chair, toilet and shower. You should know that you step out of the shower straight into the room, which might get a bit awkward if you travel with friends. The blowdryer is available at the reception. Breakfast was basic. Toast, ham, cheese, jams, croissants and cereal along with coffee, tea and juices. It's a budget hotel as the name says, but we were around all day so shower, sleep and breakfast was everything we needed and received at the Ibis budget hotel. Would definitely come again.

The location is perfect distance from the airport and it’s easy to get to the city centre from the hotel as you are close to the tram stop and the bus stop. There is also a shopping centre nearby so if you don’t opt for breakfast at the hotel, you can pop into the shopping centre to get a quick snack from Morrisons or even the food court in the shopping centre. You were also able to hire out an umbrella for 24 hours for £2 or £20 to return it after 48hours. The room was perfect for me and my friends in terms of the beds but it wasn’t clearly explained before hand that the shower was separate to the toilet and sink and the shower was only hidden by a frosted door. So we had each had to take a turn in the room to shower which was quite inconvenient. The room was slightly tight however.

So we came up to Edinburgh for the Xmas markets and to see this lovely city as had never been to Edinburgh before. Because we were flying and didn’t want to hire car we used the tram system. Took tram straight from airport to hotel. Then used the trams to get ourselves into city centre every day . If you want to be in heart of city this Hotel isnt for you as 7 miles out . But trans go every 7 mins. Breakfast was included and it’s continental so cereals , yogurts pastries , cheese , ham toast , butter , jams etc . They do have a small bar in the evenings and offer 12” pizzas . People also ordered just eat takeaways

The room was slightly small but adequate for the three of us – myself, my wife, and our son. The hotel is situated outside the city center, but there is convenient tram access to downtown. I purchased a 5-day family pass at the airport for £55, which allowed for unlimited travel during our stay. Complimentary tea, coffee, and water were available 24/7 in the lobby. The staff were very accommodating, and the room was not only clean but also serviced daily. There is a large supermarket located directly across from the hotel, offering very reasonable prices.

- Compact, but still modern looking room, which was nice and clean when we arrived - The bunk bed weight limit is 120 kg, so it is quite massive, and it was also comfy - The continental breakfast was good enough for its price - The Old Town of Edinburgh could be reached with a tram in 20 minutes - Airport is really close, and also there is a gas station near the hotel - The parking was well managed (dedicated place only for ibis tenants; guiding signs provided for easy access)
